Can it be true?????

Question by Awesome Bill: Can it be true?????
That all Pittsburgh area Walmarts are refusing returns on brooms tonight?

And be a sport by not whining about calls. The conspiracy theorists have a radio call-in show for that called "Coast To Coast AM" every night.

Real hockey question: Why did the Bruins and Sabres both have smaller than regulation sized rinks (when all other teams were 85' x 200') before moving into their current arenas? I don't know this, so anyone who does know will really be a help.

What do you think? Answer below!

  1. and that dude bet on a hockey game!!!!!

  2. My broom never left the closet...
On Sunday though I might go get the hatchet from the shed. :P

Kudos to the Flyers. They came out desperate and flying in the 1st.
They protected their lead pretty well the rest of the game. Biron was solid.

  3. I would like to thank all of the Pens fans who asked about the sweep today. Can they keep it up all weekend and there might be a nice cookie for them.

  4. obviously the garden & buffalo's war memorial stadium were built before the newer ice surface regulations took into effect. therefore, there was nothing they could do about it.

  5. boston, buffalo and chicago all had smaller ice surfaces before the league made an official size rink. i am pretty sure they were grandfathered due to the planning of building new arena's at the time of the rule was made (early to mid 90's i think). plus the aud could not be expanded to fit a 85' x 200' rink.

  6. Hahaha, nice...

I wasn't counting on any sweeps in the semifinals, even though it was starting to look iffy -- that's just too easy! I knew they were saving a little somethin-somethin.

  7. That's hysterical.

By the way, the game 3 first period calls were just as bad to the Flyers as tonight's were to the Pens. It's all about consistency and, right now, there is none...

The Aud and the Garden were older buildings that were not built to what later became standard dimensions for the NHL ice surface.

  8. I told you all earlier NO SWEEPS. It is true about the brooms. I have seen that first hand. Those people also try to return hats and tshirts of the team too. LOL

  9. It looks like it's time for spring cleaning in the 'Burgh.

I don't know the answer to your other question.

  10. Good (real) question. I didn't even know that. I wonder why the NHL let that happen.
