“Comparing Reality Tunnels” Until You no Longer need that preconception, and All tunnels merge. Fascinating…
the only thing i would disagree with is “you can start choosing reality tunnells”. rather it is coming out of those tunnels we must achive.
Wow, I love this guy. Thanks.
Ulrich Schnauss – Suddenly The Trees Are Giving Way
anybody know the track at 0:50?
I need help turning my physical gold into monoatomic white gold powder
its baked into the cake
“Brethren, pray ye;
and when ye have prayed again
and yet again, nothing doubting,
verily then it shall rain mice.”
And when the dog heard this he laughed in his heart and turned from them saying,
“O blind and foolish cats,
has it not been written
and have I not known
and my fathers before me,
that that which raineth for prayer and faith and supplication
is not mice but bones.”
The Wise Dog – Khalil Gibran
I’m inclined to agree
“Robert Anton Wilson” fully deserves to be a household word in America. Sadly, he isn’t, like McKenna. But history, as Nietzsche (a hero of Bob’s) often felt that “history erects monuments to great, subterrean souls.” And Bob and Terence were the Master Mole-Men of the late 20th Century. That last Century. That brown-papered, musty, withour-proper-Internet Century. Novelty like even our greatest-grandfathers never seen is about to commence its cascade onto our barren shores this year…
I think that that kind of attitude and that kind of statement is part of the reason why many people don’t put any validity into advocates of this kind of philosophy. Don’t YOU forget that what you just said is just as dogmatic as other peoples’ beliefs. Just because Wilson’s philosophy is a meta-belief does not mean that it’s not subject to its own tenants.
and don’t forget most of us haven’t even evolved past the 4th circuit. trying to educate people on youtube by arguing with them is usually like banging your head against the wall
mindfuck fnord.
What is he saying that is irrational?
“some guy did drugs and decided there is no reality”
Can you quote anything that he says similar to this?
Only a second?
continued: in the same vein, taking this model as objective truth would be completely ridiculous… there aren’t literally 8 brains, there’s one unified brain… but at the same time I’d say seeing it in 8 parts would be an oversimplification.
Sorry most peoples’ responses to your posts have been far more closed minded than they accuse you of being. They’ve totally missed the point of what they’re trying to argue.
@ arknihil: What I mean by “humans are not purely rational beings” is directly related to the problem you have with taking “reality tunnels” as objective truth… namely, there is no objective truth. You should read into the 8 circuit brain model if you’re really interested… it divides intelligence into 8 segments, of which rational intelligence is only one segment. The whole of intelligence works together to create a person’s reality, which is not the same as anyone else’s. (continued)
I don’t know if it’s the pacing of these clips or RAW’s tone of voice but I officially just stepped out of my mind for a second
then you’re not here for the truth. bother someone else with your arrogant rhetoric about openmindedness.

please explain how someone recognizing that this nothing in this video is scientific is “closed minded”. tolerance of irrationalism is not an admirable virtue.
that’s like saying someone who tells a child not to stick metal objects in an electric socket is closed minded.
well there’s not exactly a lot to argue with in this video. the premise is basically “some guy did drugs and decided there is no reality”, which is nothing new, and is not scientific. his description of “reality tunnels” sounds like a nice metaphysical description of things, but once you start taking it as the objective truth, you run into problems. “humans are not purely rational beings” what exactly does that mean?
(continued) I guess the biggest problem you could say about this video is that it’s made for people who are already familiar with some of RAW’s concepts.
@arknihil Watched it; he basically spends the time saying “ur wrong, this is how it is.” One of the points he makes, his response to the point about changing the perceiving apparatus, he even responds to this by saying “ur wrong,” then says pretty much exactly what RAW was saying while playing down the importance of any aspect of it but the “rational” aspect of it… humans are not purely rational beings. (continued)
and that’s what you’d call an unfounded assumption, and intellectual cowardice to dismiss people who disagree with your point of view as having not examined it.

is basically the gist of everything wrong with this video.
