I wouldn’t term them as being superstitious. I think the reason why they are considered hog wash is simply because most of us have not yet reached that level of understanding to acknowledged it.
Astrology is like an old marriage. It’s been mauled a bit and some of the promises have gone out the window. Nevertheless, there is still enough truth and comfort to it that it will still be around for a long time.
