Hauntings - The Tales of Haunted Houses

"Tales of haunted houses are a mainstay of horror movies. But what can be made of people's claims that real-life ghosts have turned their homes into places of terror?

This revealing video introduces three families who are convinced their houses are haunted. One Midwestern family turned to a ghost-buster to rid their house of its unwanted guest. In a fascinating interview, "psychic investigator" Rob Conover reveals how he cleared their home of its ghosts. See bizarre phenomena at a house in Colorado captured on film. And hear the incredible stories of a Pennsylvania family that has learned to live with spirits that have followed them to 11 homes.

Along with these compelling stories, this video presents the opinions of psychologists, historians, photography experts and Nobel Prize winning physicist Leon Lederman, who offer rational explanations for the incredible events others point to as evidence of haunting."

Sleep With a Ghost in One of 10 Haunted Hotels

"If you're looking for a truly fun and spine-tingling experience this Halloween, you really can't go wrong by booking a room at a haunted hotel and trying your best to get a decent night's sleep.

Forget haunted houses. With how many people have passed through (and sometimes passed away in) hotels over the years, it's not a huge shock that some of the most popular places travelers rest their heads are home to restless spirits who have never bothered to check out of their guest rooms."

Residual Hauntings Aren't Recordings, But Views in Time

Residual Hauntings Aren't Recordings, But Views in Time

abbey_monk_ghost_story-523x611-425x497Residual Hauntings are not naturally occurring recordings of past events into the surrounding environment. The truth is they are views in time. When you stand on the Gettysburg battlefield, the only thing that separates you from the men who fought there is time. In other words, you are there and so are they, you both occupy the same space. If people do give off psychic energy under incredible situations, this energy flows through time like water leaking through a dam. Residual Hauntings are not recordings, they are the actual events happening at that time, except by emotional or psychic energy it punches through time to our present day and we witness the event as it is happening in the past. The event happened only once in time. The true name for a residual haunting should be a "Time Leak Haunting", or just a "Time Leak".

No law of physics prevents time travel. But there are many things that tell us events cannot be "recorded" into their surroundings and then played back at a later time. The basic laws of mass and energy don't work that way. But physics is learning more and more about time such as space-time. Einstein determined that space and time are one and the same. They are merged together in something called space-time. Space-time can be manipulated, stretched, changed, etc.

Could the heightened emotional or psychic energy given off by one or thousands of humans be enough to punch a whole through or manipulate space-time?

We already know that we can view the past. Just look through a telescope at a distant star in the night sky and you are looking into the past. What you are seeing through your telescope is actually what the star looked like hundreds, thousands, or millions of years ago. What you are looking at may no longer even exist. When you look at the sun, you are looking at it 8 minutes in the past. We know this because we know the distance to the sun and also the speed of light. If the sun were to explode we would not see it until 8 minutes have passed.

Witnesses in present day Gettysburg have reported seeing and hearing a long line of troops, wagons, and horses. What they were seeing is Lee's Retreat after the battle of Gettysburg. It was a massive train of wagons carrying the severely injured Confederate troops. This massive train stretched for miles. The sadness and pain of this retreat no doubt expended huge amounts of emotional energy. Confederate General John Imboden wrote down an actual account of Lee's retreat:

"... from almost every wagon for many miles issued heart-rending wails of agony. From nearly every wagon as the teams trotted on, urged by whip and shout, came such cries and shrieks as these: 'O God why can't I die!', 'My God why will no one have mercy and kill me!', 'I am dying! I am dying! My poor wire, my dear children, what will become of you?' " - from the diary of Confederate General John Imboden, July 1863.

The human energy whether emotional or psychic is so great that it pushes the event across the dimension of time or across space-time. What would happen if someone from our time enters into this train of confederate soldiers when it next appears? I don't know.

These types of ghosts do not interact with or seem to be aware of the living. Their appearance and actions are always the same. They are like spirit-level recordings - residual energies - that replay over and over again. The Tower of London - Residual Hauntings

The Tower of London - Residual Hauntings

The Tower of London holds many fascinating and eerie secrets behind its somber, grey walls. This awesome palace (once residence of the Kings and Queens of England) and fortress of old was erected in 1066-87 with the largest 'White Tower' as its first building.

In the mid 16th century it became known as the 'Bloody Tower' when it was suspected that the imprisoned 'Princes in the Tower' (child sons of King Edward IV and nephews of Ricard III) had also become victims of the countless and brutal murders which the tower has become famous.

On entering the Tower of London through the Middle and Byward towers, you carry on through 'Traiter's Gate'. This river entrance is where many prisoners, including Queen Anne Boleyn (King Henry VIII's second wife) and her brother travelled to their doom... be it the dungeons, or to the Wakefield Tower where merciless regimes of torture were carried out.

Queen Anne Boleyn (it is believed by many) was falsely accused of treason, witchcraft, adultery and incest with her brother after Henry VIII became convinced their marriage was cursed when Anne could not bear him the son he longed for.

He was determined to be rid of Anne and pave the way for Jane Seymour to became his third wife...the only one to later bear him a son (Edward VI - 1537-1553).

Henry ordered the arrest of five men he accused of being Anne's lovers, which also included her brother. Every one of them denied this claim until tortured.

The five men were executed on Tower Hill on May 17th 1536...Anne Boleyn followed them two days later. It was said that she met her end with the dignity and beauty she was famed for during her short life.

Many of the guards of the tower have witnessed Anne Boleyn's ghost. One evening a guard reported watching as Anne lead a courtly procession across the tower green and on towards Tower Hill where she had been executed.

On another occasion, a group of guards where horrified when her apparition appeared so close - one of them was able to prod at the image before it faded before them.

The guards ('Yeoman of the Guard') have watched the towers since 1509, therefore, it is hardly surprising that many have a ghostly tale to tell. One of the most noted is that of the ghost of King Henry VI.

At the age of 49 yrs the King was savagely murdered in the Wakefield Tower whilst in his chambers in 1471 as he knelt in prayer. It is wrote: "the hour before midnight the King was stikk'ed full of deadly holes, wielded by the Duke of Gloucester".

On the anniversary of Henry VI's death, his apparition has been seen on many annual occasions by guards. They say he paces the floors of the Wakefield Tower as the clock reaches the hour of his death... then as the clock chimes the last second of midnight, he fades into the stone walls... until the following year.

Haunted Places in Pennsylvania

Haunted Places in Pennsylvania

Haunted places in PA will walk you through some of the most haunted places to visit in the keystone state. Pennsylvania is a state rich with its rich historical heritage. The great heritage buildings and sites like the Liberty Bell and the Independence Hall (Philadelphia), Amish Country (Lancaster County), the Valley Forge Encampment, the Gettysburg Battlefield and several stops all along the Underground Railroad.

Paranormal Investigators and Ghost Hunters are of the view that this close intimacy of Pennsylvania to the pages of History includes a lot more than just the artifacts of the yesteryears. They predict a number of haunted places in PA.

And that is quite evident as all through the state of Pennsylvania there are a number of sites that are known to be eerie and haunted. There are numerous tales of these haunted places in PA that are not just interesting but at times frightening as well.

Now let's explore some of the haunted places in PA, town by town as they continue to rest in the ravages of time with their inherent hushed stories to be told.

Starting with Gettysburg some of the paranormal investigators believe that Gettysburg is supposedly not just one of the most haunted places in PA but also the most eerie place in the entire America.

This is primarily because it is the site of one of the most notable battles ever, the Civil War. Gettysburg is said to be the site to numerous ghostly sightings of the fallen soldiers in the battle who still continue to walk down the streets around Gettysburg which were once the bloody battles where they breathed their last.

Next in the list is Indiana situated in the South-Western part of Pennsylvania, this place is the home town of the famous Eliza Furnace. This is one of the oldest iron furnaces in America that is preserved till the day.

But the place is taken to be again one of the most haunted places in PA as it is said to be visited by the spirit of David Ritter who had dangled and hanged himself in the way in to the furnace. People can often see the apparition in the entrance eerily dangling on the end of a noose.

Johnstown is yet another of the ghostly places known in Pennsylvania, especially as one of the most haunted places in PA. The Johnstown Incline Plane is enlisted in the legendary Guinness Book of World Records as the most vertically placed vehicular inclined plane around the globe.

But then this same incline is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a few coal miners who were killed when unfortunately a coal mine collapsed near the incline in 1902, the apparitions are seen still holding on to their lunch buckets.

Last but not the least is Philadelphia, the Eastern State Penitentiary to be precise. This prison, supposedly one of the most haunted places in PA, was once home to infamous gangster Al Capone, is now abandoned and is haunted by the ghosts of several prisoners who died here. People have also seen the apparition of a ghost guard who can often be seen in the guard towers.

So take some time on your next trip to the keystone state to visit some of the most haunted places in PA.

Real Haunted Places

Real Haunted Places

Fear for the unknown and the eagerness in human beings to confront supernatural powers has created a huge segment of people all over the world in search of real haunted places. It is said that people in search of ghostly adventures get a high when they visit real haunted places and haunted houses.

But why does man want to visit real haunted places for instance a haunted house, which is assumed to be haven for supernatural happenings or paranormal phenomena? You may come to close confrontation with ghosts, poltergeists, or even malevolent entities if you visit or come across these real haunted places. I believe it is the adventure and the thrill of experiencing fear that drives people to these haunted places.

Real haunted places are believed to be occupied by the spirits of the dead, who may have been past inhabitants or were familiar with the now haunted place. It is said that paranormal happenings inside such real haunted places is primarily associated with any violent or tragic events that might have occurred in the inmates of the building. It may be related to any murder, accidental death, or suicide either in recent times of sometime long ago.

It is believed almost cutting across any religion and faith that the souls of those who die traumatic deaths do not rest in peace and are trapped inside the property. These entities are believed to haunt houses; and if you dare to visit these real haunted places, you can hear noises, see the spirits appear as ghost, and move or launch physical objects.

There has also been a strange co-relation found between real haunted places and carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is found to be the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in North America. And, symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include listlessness, depression, dementia, emotional disturbances, and hallucinations.

Investigations show that there have been a number of cases when the inmates of a haunted house may experience strange visions and sounds, feelings of dread, illness, and the sudden, apparently mysterious death of all the occupants. This can be attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning and experts opine that carbon monoxide poisoning should be promptly investigated as a possible cause for haunting.

There are many people who would like to experience the thrill of being in real haunted places. I have known people who plan these ghostly trips. But people with weak hearts beware. Do not get carried away with the challenge of a friend to accompany him, if you are suffering from any heart ailments. I'm sure you would not want a DARE at the cost of your life.

For all those who dare to visit the real haunted places, the Internet now offers a lot of information and guides to satisfy your thrill side. Websites on real haunted places are spread over the Net offering daring information on haunting trips and tours. You can get information on the Ghosts & Legends of the historic Queen Mary ocean liner to haunted hotel rooms.

Ghosts and Spirits-prt 2

Ghosthunter and author John Kachuba talked about some of his investigations, and theories regarding hauntings and spirits. There are a number of possible explanations for ghostly phenomena, and one of them ties in with the theory of parallel universes or alternate worlds, currently considered in quantum physics. It's very possible that what we call ghosts could be the result of these worlds bumping up against each other, creating a momentary crossover that allows us to see into another dimension, he noted. Other manifestations may be related to natural earth energies like ley lines or magnetism. There are also "residual hauntings" where the impression or memory of some traumatic event lingers. "The emotional content of that...event is left in the form of energy in the environment that under the right conditions...replays itself again and again, until finally at some point it dissipates," he said. Kachuba talked about "corner ghosts," entities that are seen in a flash from the side view, but disappear when looked at head on. One theory posits that ghosts or spirits are visible in the infrared spectrum, and because there's a thin band around the cornea that allows a small amount of view in that range, that may be why people sometimes see these things in their peripheral vision, he suggested. One interesting case he investigated was that of "Shadow Man" sightings in a basement Art Complex in Ohio (a former Catholic school), in which numerous witnesses described a dark ...
