Scientific tests have 'proven' it a fake, some say there is still some doubt over its authenticity as over the centuries it has been set on fire, doused in water, repaired several times and contaminated by storage and handling so we dont really know if what they're testing is actually the original shroud or some repair job by nuns in the 15th century or somebodys greasy fingerprints from the 19th century, etc.
Fake, fake and fake.
I wish I had thought of it first.
its been a proven fake for years.
A wonderful and moving piece of religious artwork, but not a relic.
It's a proven fake.
It is not Christ. The Bible is clear that the wrappings on Christ were in two sections, one on the head, and the other on the body.
The carbon dating has proved that it does not date from the first century.
There is no evidence, but I thought that it was disproven a long time ago.
Edit:@Yes to whoever said it was a clever fake. I saw on television that L. Da Vinci most likely was the designer.
It's a fake.
There have been many scientific evaluations of the shroud already and all confirm that it is a clever fake. Religious authorities want, of course, accept this no matter how much evidence they are presented.
As others have pointed out, it's a very clever fake. It would look lovely as a throw for my living room couch.
thee are so many things in question in the world and so many more with understanding of facts and research, but whether it is true or not doesn't really matter to me.
what matters is that Jesus is a fact, He is alive and real and mighty to save. he is the beautiful Lord and saviour of all who would opeh their hearts to him.
Fake…a cleaver fake, but a fake.
It carbon dates to the Middle Ages, only a bit older than the documentation of it starts. It has two kinds of pigment visible under microscopes, the head is disproportionately big, the front and back images are different sizes.
Just an old cloth nothing special about it.
Most unfashionable.Will never catch on.
