  1. Unknow says:

theres so much proof out there that near death experiences are real. In my point of view it is irrational to say they are not. There have been many documentaries and research done. Theres a really good story i've heard in this documentary. And it was by the man who was getting surgery done on when he died during the surgery. He said that when he saw himself floating over his body and he saw the doctors trying to save him. He then floated up the the top of the hospital building and saw a pair of tennis shoes up there. He decided to go back to his body and when he woke up he surprised the doctors who thought he was dead.He then told then about his outter body experience and about the shoes. Sure enough when the doctors checked there was a shoes on top of the building

  2. Michael K says:

NDEs are real, but they're not of religious origin. We can recreate them in the lab by "starving" the brain of oxygen.

  3. H says:

it's as real as a dream can be.

  4. amazonkrause says:

I don't think you can meditate the feeling of heaven or hell but you probably have a good imagination.

  5. SPL Texas says:

Hell is real and many aetheist who have such experience become instant Christians and love Jesus more than many because Hell is quite the motivator.

Love you, your bro in Christ

  6. Miss Sarah says:

    That is really fascinating..

It had happened to people I know before, I personally believe I talk to Jesus sometimes and he communicates back to me and all of us in some way.

  7. Dreamstuff Entity says:

    1. Near death experiences are the result of a brain shutting down due to lack of oxygen.

    2. We know how to induce one artificially using ketamine.

    3. People mostly see what they expect to see – hence people of different religions have different experiences.

    4. A few people, though, have made quite a bit of money from NDE claims.

  8. Demi says:

No I just think the brain makes it up.

  9. ginger says:

no the real resurrectiongs havent come yet..

  10. rebecca! says:

I think I do. My dad had a heart attack a few years ago and almost passed away, and he told me that he saw God. He also said he asked God to let him stay on earth longer to watch my sister and I grow up, and he survived. It's never happened to me, but I believe my dad. I'm not justifying that for MY belief in God, but it did for him.

  11. NewlyBorn says:

What the heck you guys are smoking…?

  12. JamesH says:

My wife and I, daughter and son-in-law were hit headon at night by a driver with no lights on. The other car, according to the deputy sheriff, was doing 60 mph. That's as near-death as one can get.

We had no visionary experience. But I do recall calling on the Lord's name during the few seconds of violent impact.

  13. Cyrus says:

yes getting near death is real. The whole light thing is just a hallucination .

  14. Matthew says:

None of them actually die. Therefore near death experiences are of no use whatsoever.

  15. 7576reds says:

definitely real, if a person says there not is a fool and a liar. But weather or not they are religious is were the controversy comes in.
But there are those few that make you think.
EX. A women was on her boat with her husband when a huge wave came and knocked the boat over. She was stuck under the boat for 30 minutes and was pulled out from under it and was presumed dead. She was a organ donor so they took her to the lab.
They were about to take all the organs out until she litterly jumped off the table and started screaming about how she had met god, jesus. ECT.

The had no pulse for 20 minutes and then she randomly comes back

    its a thinker

  16. link955 says:

Near-death experience (NDE) has been shown by science to be a hallucinatory state caused by cerebral anoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain) during a cardiac arrest. The content of the hallucinations is determined by preconceived notions regarding an "afterlife," religious indoctrination and life experience.

I have been involved in countless cardiac arrest situations in my career as a nurse. During a code, we frequently shine bright lights into a patient's pupils to check the effectiveness of CPR; a pupil contracting in the light shows oxygen is reaching the brain. That can explain the "bright light" people remember. Also, cerebral hypoxia causes a narrowing of the visual field, producing a phenomenon commonly known as "tunnel vision." Try holding your breath for two minutes and see what happens.

Sorry to burst your — and Betty Eadie's — bubbles, but it's nothing spiritual. It's just the physiology of a brain in distress.

  17. Adam the return SFCU says:

my father was clinically dead for several minutes but did not report any such feelings, It very well could be true

  18. Tainruadh says:

I don't believe because I know. I've been there. I didn't meet Jesus or anyone else, but it was a moment (or period) of great clarity and I no longer fear death. Didn't see a light either but I know I can fly. I've also been astral travelling through meditation to other realms and planets before and after that event. All you haters out there should use more of your brain and you could do the same.

  19. Ozzy1248 says:

"Near death experiences" are real in that people experience them. The same way that dreams are real.
However, the experience that people have when dying is in no way representative of what's actually happening in reality. (Again, the same way dreams are not).
There are many reasons for this, but just some are:
    1. You never heard of a person seeing a vision on their death bed of a belief or faith that they do not have. (example: you never heard of a muslim seeing jesus on their death bed).
    2. These near death experiences always happen to a brain that is malfunctioning.
    3. These experiences can be replicated by scientific means. We know what areas of brain produce this effect and can reproduce it. This "light" that people see is a result of blood and oxygen not being delivered to the brain.

  20. LottaLou says:

Yes there are near death experiences. Everyone who nearly dies experiences it. Some who do die & come back to life also experience it. Some remember what happened & some don't.

    That is interesting.

As a young teenager at a Christian camp, we went to church every day about 3Xs.
Others were being filled with the Holy Spirit. I wanted this gift. So the last night, I was being prayed for & I was praying for the gift. But I was afraid God wouldn't give it to me.
Finally, I praised God in tongues. And I felt loved & in the 'high' zone.
On the way to the cabin, I heard others say, 'There is a false Holy Spirit… And the devils eye…'. I then sensed a fear.

At the cabin & trying to sleep, I saw a vision of trhe devils eye. And sensed the fear. But I was afraid (very much). And choose to believe God. And then I saw a 'Disney world type' vision of heaven, with the castle, etc. Then the peace returned.

Well since that moment, I loved God much & prayed in the Spirit, etc.
But others were offended. So? I decided not to bring God up…
When I married & moved away, I forgot about God.

I also practiced self hypnosis for test anxiety… And then I was in a drunken black out at a High School class reunion. Before the blackout, an old grade school friend asked me about God (I was at the fridge refilling). I had forgotten about God.

I didn't recover from the hangover. And I was frightened since I couldn't remember. So I prayed again. I asked God to forgive me…

But the problem is that I had fell away. So I then was practicing self hypnosis & would go to sleep on it. (Don't try that!). But then a few weeks later after the drunken black out; I was laying on the couch & I heard a voice, I told it to behave & repent to God… Then a hand came down & grabbed my heart & twisted it tight. I then got stuck in a trance of vision, voice, etc… I couldn't get out.

[ In another answer is written...'Near-death experience (NDE) has been shown by science to be a hallucinatory state caused by cerebral anoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain) during a cardiac arrest.' that is interesting, since my breakdown & entry into the 'dream domain' started with my heart grabbed & tightened.]

During the ordeal, I kept praying for Gods help. I went through blankets of evil, rejection, heart things, extreem ups & down. But I found out that I had developed idols in my life. And through it all, they got fried.

Back to your experience. One of the points of no returning, was seeing the devils eye, only worse. I heard the devils laugh. And after that, I was twitching all over. Then I thought, 'Demons!'. I didn't really think I would ever have demons like this before. I was terrified.
The devils eye wasn't realistic insects in red eyes. It really was like a red ball in an eye. I felt the same fear that I felt years ago about hearing other kids talking about a devils eye. But this time I heard the devils laugh. And that was very horrible sounding. I was too terrified. I physically twitched all over…

But really it was before this that I had endured some spiritual encounters in the dream domain & things were silent, so I tried to go to sleep again. Laying in the bed, I had a vision of a round spinning plate with two goblets on it. And a voice from heaven said, 'Choose the cup of life or choose the cup of death.'. I thought that I couldn't tell what one was life & what one was death. So? I said I wasn't going to pick either one.
And that is when I went up to go to the bathroom. That is when I saw the devils eye. Then I ran to the bathroom & looked in the mirror & tried to figure it out & yell at the devil… Then I heard the devils laugh. Then the twitching. Then I went crazy.

(The reason why I am writing all this, is because your question is targeting something Jesus is showing me today about this.)

Recently Jesus went over again (the last two nights also), about the new wine He is going to give me at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. And I am going to see Him put two plops in it. And I am to drink it. I am suppose to trust Him in it.
Then He said that if I don't drink it, there will appear a roud turning plate with two goblets on it again. I am to choose life or death. And since I won't know what to choose (they look identical), then doing the same thing I did years ago (not choosing) is really choosing. And Jesus said that I know the conscequences of that.

    ———–In response to Ozie1428
(example: you never heard of a muslim seeing jesus on their death bed).
Actually, I have heard plenty of stories of this. One example is a young man given no hope in his hospital bed. He watched TBN & asked Jesus if He Is real to heal him. Jesus did heal him. So He became a Christian.
I know of a terrorist who had a NDE, who had a vision of Jesus & chose Jesus. He survived, but now is a believer in Jesus. No longer a terrorist, but thankful for prayers that He would have an oportunity to see the True Light of Christ before he would have died & gone to hell. And to choose to call on His Name, the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be saved.
    And there are others.

I had a NDE two years ago. So yes, they exist. Any questions? Try experiencing death yourself and you may have one yourself. As for those who say that people can re-create NDEs, they're nothing like the real thing. For those that say people experience them only because of drugs, that's simple: how can you be affected by drugs if you're already dead?
For your meditation experience, that wasn't a near-death experience, as you didn't actually die. Near death experiences, as you may notice, change from person to person. They go usually according to the person's belief system or even their original belief system, religiously speaking. For example, a former Christian may see things that have happened in the Bible, hence rekindling their belief in the Bible. One reasonable explanation for this is that this is the way of the "higher being" to enable one to understand the message being said for them to bring back to the world. The basic message is pretty much staying true to your belief system.

  22. Alan H says:

I believe that NDEs are indeed valid. They are evidence of something, maybe something spectacular. I had a near-death experience when I was younger, but I think I just passed out for a minute, maybe not dead…therein lies one problem with NDE’s: who was really dead and who wasn’t?

  23. telson says:

Most people are probably curious about what lies ahead after death, beyond the border of death. This may be a reason why they seek knowledge from spiritism sessions or books that discuss this issue. Many have also had personal close-to-death experiences – i.e., experiences when their heart has stopped in the hospital or in connection with an accident and when they may have seen themselves as if from the outside; they may have seen the operations done to them or the entire operating room. Some may have also seen in connection with their experiences a being of light that seems to be full of ‘love and compassion’.

The major topic as comes to this conversation is indeed generally connected with the question of whether all near death experiences are positive and will everybody end up fine beyond the border in spite of the way they have lived on the Earth. Many researchers want to believe this but is it true?
