An estimated 27,000 visitors have flocked to Herriman, Utah, just outside Salt Lake City, to see the house, the Salt Lake Tribune reports. Some visitors have even gone so far as to shop for real estate in the area, hoping to be close to the movie-inspired model home.

After publicity in national and international media on the heels of the home’s completion this summer, the attraction continues to get about 1,000 visitors a week, says builder Blair Bangerter. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Bangerter had to get special permission from Disney to build the replica — and had to promise to turn over construction plans after it was completed.

For now, the house will remain open as a tourist attraction, with a special Halloween planned: Bangerter’s father, former Utah Governor Norm Bangerter, will dress up as the curmudgeonly “Up” character Carl Fredricksen and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.
