  1. mila says:

Yes for sure I believe it. In fact, I think it's possible that the newly discovered planet that's just been "found" in our solar system might carry our ancient ancestors.
    Crazy story but fascinating book.
We are silly to think that we're the only "intelligent" life form around.

  2. GS1 says:

Yes, but do you think they believe we exist?!!!

  3. OriginalBubble says:

I agree with you. We only know about the planets in our own galaxy, never mind possibly all the other millions out there.
People who think we are the only life imho are very self-centered.

  4. Kevin (U.K.) says:

I believe they exist. I am not so sure they have been here though. Why would they be interested in going to the US Midwest and picking up a couple of "Hicks" just to force them to have sex with cows? I am sure we would appear a bit backward to them with our petty squabbles and fragmented planet.

  5. carla s says:

No and until I have proof I’m not going to believe it either.

P.S. you sound just like my partner he has that argument about other life forms too.

  6. michelle a says:

If there are, why haven't they contacted us? If they are more intelligent maybe they have and its top secret until we can determine if it is safe.

One of lifes curent great mysteries. I wouldn't be so arrogant as to say for definate, because the fact is no one really knows for sure.

  7. Roger B says:

If you mean carbon based life forms that generally perambulate like we do, and have 5 senses like us, then I doubt it. However, I would guess that due to the vastness of the universe, there may well be independant "beings" out there. But why they should bear any resemblence to any Earthbound life is questionable.

  8. armyguy0207 says:

Hard to say, you never know. But if there is, would that be a good thing or a bad thing for us. We already have enough trouble accepting other races in our world, could imagine the pain that we would go through if there were things walikng around earth from a diferent planet? That would be something else.

  9. GypsyGr-ranny says:

Baha'u'llah, prophet-founder of the Baha'i Faith says that every sun (twinkling stars are suns–untwinkling stars are planets) has it's planets, and every planet, its creatures unnumbered.

He also said that the earth is, but, a speck of dust in the universe.

He also said the world and all that is therein is worth less than the pupil of the eye of a dead ant.

  10. huggywell says:

I think it would be almost impossible for us to be alone given the infinity of space! There must be other life forms somewhere. Maybe not the super advanced beings that people usually associate with aliens, but life forms none the less.

  11. redhotboxsoxfan says:

Yes we do, but please don't tell anyone about us as they will get really scared. We are just here trying to help the human race.

  12. Boon5 says:

We have some in the conservative party!!

  13. Mags says:

    I agree

  14. Spook says:

    yes

  15. Ollie says:

I think the same as you.I believe we are not alone the universe is vast so there has got to be some other form of life. Its possible there could be humans who are more advanced than us etc
which are called Aliens.Truth we simply do not know so I have a open mind.

  16. Dawn Treader says:

Yes, they exist, I think so also… it seems odd if we're the only living creature striving to live in this unmeasurable vast of universe. Maybe in forms of one cell or multi cell species or whatever.

  17. Hormonal says:

They must do. Surely we can't be the only planet with lifeforms. Though I still can't get my head round this infinity business – they say that the universe is infinite, but if it isn't then what is there after it… ooh my head hurts!

  18. Shelli says:

Yes, I think its daft to believe we are the only planet that has life forms, but what type of life forms there are out there can boggle you mind, so I stop before my brain implodes!

  19. Wayne y says:

I believe that the tv showsStargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis have a lot of merit behind them and their storylines, as the governments of the world have for so long tried to cover up the truth behind other life forms. I think they helped to create these shows so the general public would be more understanding to the idea when extra terrestrials become public knowledge.

  20. Pandak says:

No, I do not believe they exist…Belief has nothing to do with science, and they may exist whether or not I believe in them. Science seeks evidence, hard facts, facts that you can reproduce, facts that are publicly observable and testable.

And that's the problem with Area 51 and UFO reports–they always happen to other people and I can't go and see for myself, so the alleged visitations by UFO's is not verifiable or confirmable by scientific investigation. If extra-terrestrials exist, then they need scientific proof, not belief.

I agree with you that the probability, the likelihood that there are intelligent, technological beings outside of earth (and I'm not all that certain that there are intelligent beings on earth!) is very, very high, almost a certainty. But we have no proof. I also think that the probability is very high that "bigfoot" or "loch ness" monsters exist, but we have no publicly verifiable proof of either one so far. Believing they exist gets you nowhere–all you can do is argue in a circle about beliefs. If you want to get somewhere, get the evidence.

The best I can do is not believe this or that, but support people who are investigating such unknown things. SETI (the search for extra terrestrial intelligence), the NASA project that has been going on for many years, is one such project of investigation. People who investigate UFO's help, but they haven't produced the "body" (where's the body?). Without scientific evidence, arguing about UFO's or loch ness monsters or big foot is like arguing about the existence of god–just a lot of hot air about beliefs. Beliefs belong in religion–not science.

And UFO's don't "prove" ET's…UFO's, for all we know, could originate from earth, from unknown (so far) places underground. For all we know, there could be a colony of intelligent beings inside the earth–and we are the unintelligent ones.

  21. ninja cat says:

they cannot not exist, we are not that special. and if you believed that we came to be here through a serious of improbable events, then those same improbable events certainly occured else where or if you believe in God, then clearly he did not waste the entire universe for just us,

  22. haloed_dreamer says:

the universe is endless. who knows what else os out there? who's got proves that we only are the intelligent form of life existing in the universe? who has travelled outside the solar system… unto the other galaxies?

    we never know.

    so, I'd say, I do. there's a great possibility…maybe they're human like creatures too.

maybe, they are wondering the same things that we are. do they think, if ever, that there are others aside from them in the totally far side of their world?

whatever the 'truth' is, not everything's meant to be answered, understand, or even known.

  23. simplyshahid says:

Most of us believe or would believe that there are intelligent life forms like ourselves in existence and that we are not alone in the universe. The probability of find such intelligence in a humanly recognisable form is great since there are almost entire expanses of the universe chartered and completely unknown to us. This is therefore settled that there are some people out there. The reason we do not know about them is that we cannot. We are not advanced enough to travel through space to reach even the neighbouring star systems within our own galaxy – we do not have means neither we have amount of time at our disposal.

If we can think of strange world inhabited by aliens but still people like us than why should we restrict our vision to reaching them only by conquering space and time first? May be they are closer to us than we have ever imagined that they are? May be there is a dimension in our very mind, entirely unknown to us just the way the object of our inquiry are unknown to us, that we can use to make contact, or even respond to other intelligent races trying to contact us for centuries now. May be they have discovered that dimension but we are not able to listens to them.

Then why is that our imagination cannot be complete without beings like fairies, angels, ghosts and all other creatures inhibiting it? Where do all these wonderful notions and fancies come from if they do not actually exist? May be these are our nearest intuitive guesses of actual people living in the far flung corners of space and farthest reaches of time but very close in our mind if we think not entirely physically. Our development has been scientific and that means materialistic so far. We see that we have insurmountable barriers all around us that our scientific development does not seem to conquer yet, and for centuries to come. May be we are looking and endeavouring in a wrong direction?

  24. stephen g says:

    yes and i'm 1!!!

  25. Biren P says:

universe is endless, there are billions and billions of systems (like solar system) out there…it can't be that earth is the ONLY planet that can harvest life.

There IS life out there, there is not question about it. It is just a matter of time. Its WHEN not IF about discovering a life on planet other than Earth.

Just because you haven't discovered it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We humans, haven't even began searching life out side the door step, who is to say what exists miles from home.

  26. Stephen says:

Yes, there's absolutely no reason not to believe Intelligent Life exists elsewhere in the Universe. regardless of whether you believe or not they have visited Earth.
Even the Vatican as conducted its own search for life within the Cosmos along with NASA and some private enterprises.

  27. thesingist says:

it would be nice to know that we were being watched over by some technologically advanced e.t's, who in times of great threat to earth will step in and save the day, like they did for the dinosaurs…oops!

  28. todaywiserthanyesterday says:

I don't believe extraterrestrials exist. If this makes you happier, you are free to believe. Area 51 is not a proof for the theory, and nor are UFOs.

  29. nessie says:

i do believe that life exists elsewhere in the universe. at what stage of development i don't care to guess, but yes i do.
area 51 can't be considered as solid evidence though, nor can UFO sightings. nothing in either of these but hearsay and gossip.
contact will be made over the radio waves if at all. so keep listening, and let hollywood do their own job.
now, in which direction shall i point that ariel ?

  30. los says:

Definitely. But do they believe I exist? Do I?
