Can anyone explain the reasons why the Goverment would Lie about U.F.O and Aliens?

If the government came out and said that aliens and U.F.Os were real, there would be a mass hysteria. Yes, most people say that they think the government is lying, but there is also the group of people who would freak out beyond belief.

Also, about those people that say they think the government is lying, they may say that they believe that. But they don’t truly believe it. It’s the same concept as when people say they’d stare danger in the face no matter what it was and they actually believe they would, but when they do get in danger they freak out and run like cowards.

The Government dont want us to know because then we would see that our Government is helpless to protect us.

  3. Celsius says:

In my opinion, there must already be a substantial number of aliens in the Government anyway. That’s why they’re working so hard to cover it up lol

  4. David D says:

The government has the almost perfect INABILITY to keep secrets. There is no way the existence of aliens could be kept a secret.

Consider this: The government and the military love money. NASA is sucking up lots of money to try and find life in the solar system. DUH… No way would they allow this waste of money to take place if extraterrestrial life was already a fact.

  5. Adam says:

A huge percentage? Show me the data. And I think people think the government lies about a lot of stuff in general, not just UFOs.

The government isn’t lying because there aren’t any aliens. There are UFOs, because a UFO is an unidentified flying object.

  6. I <3 Selena says:

First of all, most people in the government don’t have access to files like those. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have access to those things. They are one of the most secretive organizations in the world simply because its their job. They have to be secretive so other countries cant get this information. Even the president and vice-president cant know because they come and go every 4-8 years, where as the head of the CIA stays for life (also, would you trust Joe Biden with classified information?). It is a known fact that the CIA keep things secret from us (area 51) but they do so for our own good. Bottom line, they know things that we don’t but they have their reasons for not telling us, and we probably don’t want to know.

Also, with the freedom of information act the CIA had to release some files with mention of UFOs and the like.

  7. Tom A says:

No, because there are no reasons they would.

This is a genuine question: Do you think that intelligent alien visitors would just happen to fall into the hands of just the people who would be able to keep them a secret?

They’d be seen by astronomers long before they arrived. Astronomers would shout it from the rooftops. Their budget and prestige would go through the roof.

" . . .a Huge Percentage of Americans Believe the Goverment is lying."

What percentage? Who told you? Lying about what?

There comes a time in life when, to be taken seriously, you have to think seriously. I don’t mind people giving their opinions. What I mind, because it’s dangerous, is people sticking bloody-mindedly to those opinions when others point out the problems. If you don’t agree, abuse me with a supplementary.

  8. LaurelHS says:

Unless you have proof that the government actually is lying about UFOs and aliens, there isn’t much point in speculating about their motives for doing so.

  9. teandbikkies says:

What if it’s the aliens that are demanding the secrecy?

  10. David says:

They always brief the new president about the space aliens. Obama could tell us the whole story if he wanted to. But he is just like the other politicians. McCain is a straight talker and he would have told us the truth.

We should know the whole truth whether it is hard to take or not.

They probably think it is a matter of national security for some reason. Maybe they want to make a deal with the space aliens against other countries. But I don’t think the space aliens should be trusted at all.

Thanks for your question. Sorry I wish I knew the answer too!

  11. Quadrillian says:

You might believe that the government is dishonest, but you cannot seriously believe they are fools. They have simply devised an ingenious ploy to prevent people from knowing what they really do with the taxpayers money.

It goes like this: The government spends billions on developing top secret weapons and delivery systems. These machinations are highly advanced, and their destructive capabilities would horrify the public if they found out about them. To divert public attention, the government builds a few flying machines, fabricated from very earthly technology, that look like those hackneyed old ufo pictures that you see. These contraptions are flown around occasionally, especially near military bases. The public sees them, and comes to the conclusion that the government is in a conspiracy with aliens. Exactly what the government wants us to believe! They then deny the whole thing and so a raging controversy ensues, very effectively diverting public attention from what really goes on.

Put more simply, the government exploits the public’s intoxication with the ufo myth in order to create a smoke screen to hide their weapons development programs.

So yes, the government does lie about ufos, but not the way you think they do!

  12. Larry454 says:

Having had some experience in dealing with classified projects, I can say with some confidence that I have absolutely no idea. In fact, it makes no sense in the real world of security, which you may not understand very well. After all, you may not have had the dubious privilege of having to work within that environment. I don’t know what numbers you ascribe to your "huge percentage," but I suspect that it is in fact smaller than you may think. Is it possible that you could be mistaken?

  13. Grecia says:

Becuz they think ppl aren’t ready to hear the truth, and i agree there are so many ignorant ppl that still don’t believe, (i kno, ridiculous!)
they should tell ppl now bcuz the aliens are comin soon and we hav to prepare, eventhough they won’t harm us.

  14. Mr. Cuddles says:

Actually, they want us to believe that there are UFOs.

Then if something strange is seen in the sky, no one will suspect it if it is a top secret aircraft the military is testing.

The Roswell incident is proof that the government is happy with this arrangement. They said a weather balloon crashed because they didn’t want the Russians to know they were monitoring the upper atmosphere for the signs of nuclear bomb tests. When people refused to believe it was a weather balloon, the military was very pleased that it became a "flying saucer," because that story was an even better one than the weather balloon tale. In reality, it was a high-altitude spy balloon, but after people were convinced the government had a " flying saucer," the story had a life of it’s own, no where near the truth.

Remember, it was the Air Force information officer at Roswell AFB who first told the press a "flying disk" had been recovered, then the Air Force said, "No, it’s just an ordinary weather balloon." There is the first ufo cover-up on record. It worked so well that people still believe it wasn’t a balloon.

  15. duke_of_urls says:

    It’s pure paranoia.

The idea that "the government" is keeping a vast secret is absurd. For one thing, government employees are not robot aliens successfully keeping vast secrets. They are human beings just like anyone else.

Another issue is that there are almost 100 governments on this planet in competition with each other and also in competition with internal factions who would love to embarrass them, and who periodically take over control of their country and thereby become "the government" themselves. There’s no way to keep such secrets in this changing environment.

There will always be people who think that "the government" is some sort of enemy, forgetting that "the government", in countries where voting is allowed, is regularly switching hands.

It’s also a telling thing that "the government" that is perceived as the enemy is always the government of the paranoid person’s own country, not the government of any other country.

    It’s purely a psychological error-mode.

Let’s examine the idea that government people think that people in general "are not ready to know about aliens". Think of a scenario – an alien spacecraft crashes in a remote desert area (that’s where they always crash, isn’t it?) and 3 dead aliens are found in the wreckage. The government tells everyone about this. Pick the worst case scenario – people start running around screaming with their arms raised over their heads. Sooner or later they will become tired of doing that, and recall that bills are going to need being paid and life must go on. Then life goes on. People adapt to the knowledge that there are aliens out there somewhere. Life will go on as usual. Every government person knows this. There is simply no reason to lie or cover up.

  16. JimClass says:

Why does it seem that UFOs and Saucers always crash here in the US? I’m sure if they were real, there would be places all around the world with similar stories to our own with explanations to Alien existence. Though the US media is heavily controlled by the Government and this information would be strained out, the internet is a very powerful tool and hard to completely cover up anything posted especially from a foreign country.

  17. Tom Arlington Texas says:

My theory is this. If Dr Edgar Mitchell, Buzz Aldren and many other prestigious Dr.s in PHD’s say it’s so, I dont believe they would risk there reputations to do so.. This may be a way to condition us for the day coming sometime in the future. Pure speculation! I would futher add to my comments something called plausible deniability to protect future presidents such as Obama. I do, however, believe that we will find out sometime in the near future.. I do also believe there are powers that be within the government that know more than obama or any president!

  18. Tom Arlington Texas says:

I also wanted to add to my last comment on the plausible deniabilty issue, it’s on a need to know basis for some of you that dont know what that means.. There are government officials who are or were in the know. Being ex military this does exsist. Here is a sight you can look up, if this doesnt convince you, nothing will. Its called “Disclosure Project”. Look it up. Those of you with open minds will find it quite facsinating.
