My wife and self were out at the back of the house Just turned midnight New Years Eve
There were twenty or more of these bright orange lights in twos and threes travelling south over Morecambe Bay appearing from the North in view for at least five minutes at a time until disappearing. I viewed them through strong binoculars, they had a fiery appearance and were completely silent. In the bright moonlight they had no surrounding shape like wings etc. There must be some logical answer but I cannot think of one

Reports are still coming in about this. I just received the following email from Allan:

“just to let you know i also spotted the light at 12:03-7 from out side my front door along with my wife, it glowed orange and seemed to flash red on 2 sides, we were both sobber and we seen it from Aberfeldy in Scotland and it was in a south east dirrection. reminded me of an old chris deburgh song,.. great stuff”

Second thoughts. I think these lights are higher up than they appear to be. Out of this world nearly. Probably Cosmic dust left over from the big bang orbiting the planet. These particles will be exposed to the unfiltered sun and then start radiating light, some of this light is intercepted by our atmosphere which is filtering some of the rays but not all, light gets through as radiating fiery red objects for us to see and become excited. Any better ideas?
