    Creation Astronomy? Creation physicist?
    What is going on?

  2. 98DevilDog79 says:

No, my point is that if there is a God, and this God created the Universe, then obviously He/She/It can do anything.

  3. Mike12784 says:

    ad hoc reasoning

  4. 98DevilDog79 says:

    Well he could too then.

  5. Mike12784 says:

    salamder’s do it

  6. 98DevilDog79 says:

He never grew anyone’s leg back. I don’t have faith that Jesus did things that are physically impossible. I believe that what we call miracles, really aren’t, that’s just what we call things that are unexplainable.

  7. Mike12784 says:

jesus’ role is diminished, but not eradicated, they still openly acknowledge him as a sort of pre cursor prophet.
but as for miracles, do you consider stories about healing lepers and blind people to be legitimate.
i actually caused an amputee to regrow a limb earlier today, of course you don’t believe, just because i can say something doesn’t make it true. it seems that eventually you just have to use the almighty word “faith”?

  8. 98DevilDog79 says:

Sure they do. Christians claim the Jesus is God, they have everything to lose from it. They changed the words from “miracles” to “sorcery” because of just that fact for exercising demons, healing the leaper and the blind man.

  9. Mike12784 says:

however these are texts with a religious agenda, written after the fact. jesus was a jew, and the muslims have no problem with jesus, neither one stands to gain anything from detracting from the bible.

  10. 98DevilDog79 says:

True. I’ll just say this – there are a few conspiracy theorists out their that didn’t believe we went to the moon and I always tell them the same thing. If we didn’t go to the moon, or faked it, the Russians would have had the most to gain, they would have certainly disputed it- but they didn’t. Same with Jesus – both the Jewish Talmud and the Muslim Koran record the miracles He performed. So though the Gospels were written after the fact, they are supported by other non Christian accounts.

  11. Mike12784 says:

you are assuming that jesus fulfilled the prophecies, it is well known that the gospels were not written until decades after jesus’ death. could the new testament authors, who obviously had access to old testament material, have just written whatever they wanted to make it fit the old testament, whether it happened or not

  12. 98DevilDog79 says:

Jesus fulfilled over 2000 prophesies in the Old Testament – not just one that stuck. I’m saying what you said in the second paragraph – that not just human behavior, but the results of their behavior on the macroscopic scale is not deterministic. You’re right that sciences are not self fulfilling.

  13. Mike12784 says:

i know they are unpredictable, which is why one success among a lot of failures does not count, anyone can throw prophecies at a wall until one sticks, but are you saying that people never behave in a way that will make a proconceived notion come true.
exact sciences are not self fulfilling, they would only be so if you got the WRONG answer, and then the system changed in order to produce that result.
human behavior is not a deterministic system

  14. 98DevilDog79 says:

Yes – like Kepler’s laws of motion. But anything other than an exact science (like quantum electrodynamics) could NEVER be self fulfilling. If you know of any social/political patterns that repeat or could be used to predict whats going ot happen in 2000 years, please publish them because I assure you, they will be the only ones worth a damn. Government’s, states, and social psychology patterns are all as chaotic as the weather, and are for the most part are unpredictable.

  15. Mike12784 says:

exact physical laws? you are talking about a social/political event what would physical laws have to do with anything.
it is not a prediction because they returned to israel because the bible said they would. if i wrote a book and then people took steps to make sure that “prophecy” came true, that is the definiton of self fulfilling.
in order to be considered a prediction it cannot be an event that people could stage

  16. 98DevilDog79 says:

How is the fact that 2000 years ago the bible would predict the Jews being forced out from Isreal, then being given their land back at some later date? How bout you predict the history of any country of your choosing 2000 years into the future and right a book about it. That would be hardly self fulfilling, and honestly, no prediction spanning 2000 years is self fullfilling unless their is very exact physical law that describes it.

  17. Mike12784 says:

and how is that not a self fulfilling prophecy?

I let a Jew fall over? Can’t be any more frustrating than reading a comment that makes absoutely no sence.

  21. 8DX says:

Oh people: just imagine DevilDog leading an old Jew by the hand – and he lets him fall over? Disgrace!

It’s so fulfilling to read frustrated “debates” on youtube comments.

  24. ChuckNorris130194 says:

    proof?

  25. 98DevilDog79 says:

The Jew’s that did follow Christ we lead to Isreal. The Phorphesy didn say lead every single Jew, of course many/most would fall, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Jews and converted gentiles did follow him to Isreal. Fullfilled.
