Now, give the others their due. Syd shut them out first, you know. Before I go any further, let me say for the record that I love Syd and all of them equally. but you have to admit that there was fault on both sides. Syd was difficult, and they did try to help him, but he refused help. On the other hand, you’re right, it seems callous the way they just nudged him out, replacing him with Dave and all. But look how guilty they felt about it. I think it still haunts Roger to this day.
Now that I have Beatles Rock Band, I need a Pink Floyd version with this song!

Syd never left Pink Floyd. Syd was abandoned by his “friends” when the was in the middle of a psychotic breakdown. They helped him with the albums Madcap and Barrett. But they never invited him back. Nice friends…

If I were still playing my guitar today, I would have created a Pink Floyd cover band that would have recreated them live during the Syd Barrett era and I would have called my band “Floyd ‘67″.
I absolutely love playing this on the guitar. Especially along with the song and making my own improvisations. Great shit right here.
