    >>They are bent, yet unbroken.

That’s what happens when you press them down while they’re still wet. As could happen with evening dew.

Crop circles are hoaxes. Humans make them all the time. They’re actually NOT all that hard to make, even if they look really complex. It’s like that old drawing toy "Skedoodle"; all you need is a simple shape repeated around a line of symmetry. Here, go watch for yourself:

The claim USED to be that the crop circles were imprints of the bottom of spacecraft. Funny though how the conspiracy theorists have changed their tune once more obvious hoaxes came about.

  2. l3ecarefulhere says:

    100% hoaxes.

  3. Mist and Shadows says:

    people make them not UFOs

  4. Deathliger says:

Crop circles are made in the night by Science Students using a GPS.

  5. Fireball says:

    demoms probably screwing around

  6. Chances68 says:

I know that a significant number of crop circles have been proved to be hoaxes. I have not, however, investigated the authenticity of all of them, so I can’t say that all of them are hoaxes.

  7. Wakey says:

i didn’t read any of that, but to answer your question, no

  8. xaxorm says:

They are works of ART. And I find it hard to believe that any adult would even entertain the suspicion that they are anything but works of ART, created by people, as are all other known works of art.

I don’t think the label "hoax" applies, since no one involved, that we know of, is actually passing them off as anything else but art.

  9. skepsis says:

They’re just as real as WWE wrestling.

  10. JOExHIGASHI says:

Some are proven to be man-made. The vandals admitted they made the circles, provided blue prints, and videos of them making a crop circle.

  11. jethom33545 says:

This ? belongs in myths and folklore, not R&S.

    Yes. Manmade. 100% hoax.

  12. starpenta says:

I think some, no, I KNOW some are hoaxes but others I think are the results of earth energy ‘erupting’ at random times (like volcanoes). Any sort of religious explanation has been given to different natural phenomena at some point. Case in point, volcanoes were believed to be caused by some earth god/dess that needed to be appeased.
Seems as ridiculous to me as a deity creating people he knew eventually would p*ss him off so much he has to destroy everyone, including the innocent, save eight people, with a world wide flood there’s absolutely no proof of (and even scientific reasoning against).

  13. Watev says:

I think you’re overthinking this a bit too much.

I’ve seen a show where two guys made crop circles with hardly more than a wooden board, a rope, and an eye for detail.

  14. Rez says:

Clearly a sign from The Flying Spaghetti Monster

  15. arthvader says:

Your reasoning appears to be flawless.

If you examine the aerial photographs of crop circles, you will often notice an extremely fine line connecting one of the crop circles to a nearby driveway or road, or from one crop circle to another. This is caused by the perpetrators pushing their way through the field to the site of the crime.

Once arrived, the young turds (I can’t imagine they’re octogenarians — octogenarians would be "old farts" anyway if they were creating crop circles) jump up and down on boards on top of the crops (maintaining contact with the boards by ropes passed through the boards and knotted) to bend them over, having fun at the farmer’s expense, never mind that he depends on his crop for his living.

There’s a good reason that it couldn’t be done with heavyweight machinery. It can only be done by much lighter objects bouncing around on top of the crops.

  16. lonsomegeorge says:

I hope so it would explain so much

    Some are hoaxes too

Where I grew up…no lie now this is true…black bears would make crop circles…for real

When they eat corn they sit down and drag the corn to them in a circle fashion….crushing the stalks down…honest have seen it many times
They eat berries "raspberries"the same way…especially a big male…sitting down pulling the canes to them

Also Barley….and many times sleep there

and roll around in a hay field kind of the same way …leaving a circle

sometimes almost perfect circle..I always wondered if they ever check for tracks at the circles.

Most of the time they do it at night…honest

Have you ever seen the old show about ancient astronauts

That show landing strips with ancient petrographic art…like 2000 years old

That can ONLY be seen from the air…they are in South America or Mexico.

Rod Sterling "the old Twilight Zone" guy did the show …so it never had creditability

Is a cool concept….would shake up much standard knowledge if it were proved to be true

  17. ? G??? ? ????s ? says:

I watched a presentation about this on the History channel and listened to some very interesting information on the radio.
I truly believe they are of a "spiritual" nature. :D

  18. jimi says:

I really do not think so.

  19. Bruce says:

Most crop circles are man-made, but a few may result from natural forces like whirling winds. All have a terrestrial origin.

We can rule out extraterrestrial causes because there is no evidence of life beyond earth. Life appears to be a terrestrial phenomena, and intelligent life, for what it’s worth, seems to be found only on earth.

    Cheers,
    Bruce

  20. etaison says:

    There hoaxes…

  21. Michael B - Repeal Prop. 8! says:

I think some are hoaxes and some are not. While human beings can push down plants and stalks, I don’t see how they can leave energy or radiation readings at some of the sights.

  22. Judie*((St Jude Kids))* says:

I’m not sure but today on the news they showed a crop circle in the shape of a huge jellyfish.Good question, you get a star.
